Notts County 1970 - 1971. Jimmy Sirrel arrived in November 1969 and instantly made his mark by securing the Fouth divionsion Championship in his first full season. within six years County were playing in the top flight of English football.

Notts County 1948 Tommy Lawton. Lawton scored 103 goals in 166 appearances for County over five seasons helping them win promotion to Division Two in 1950. Despite playing much of his career in the lower leagues, Lawton was capped 23 times for England, scoring 22 goals.
